Frequently Asked Questions
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) was introduced by the Canadian government to help make dental care more accessible to those who may not have the resources to afford it otherwise.
It can help eligible groups of people by covering some or all of the cost of specific dental treatments and procedures. It’s important to fully understand your coverage and eligibility under the CDCP when seeking dental care.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan can cover a wide range of oral care services, including:
- Cleaning, sealants, and fluoride
- Exams and X-rays
- Fillings
- Root canals
- Dentures
- Deep scaling
- Extractions
The exact coverage available for these services may vary depending on your eligibility and other factors.
To qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, you must meet the following criteria:
- You don’t have access to other forms of dental insurance
- You have a family net income below $90,000
- You are a Canadian resident
- You have filed a tax return in the previous year
You can find more information about eligibility here. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
We offer the following types of sedation during dental procedures:
- Oral: A pill is given to you about an hour before your procedure.
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas): This involves gas inhaled through a mask. The dose is adjusted accordingly during your procedure.
- Hospital sedation (IV): With this method, medication is delivered directly into your bloodstream through an IV line.

Hospital sedation is used to ease discomfort or anxiety leading up to a procedure. Before receiving hospital sedation, you’ll have a consultation with your dentist to make sure you’re eligible.
